Our clutch felt strong and never evidenced any slippage with clutch lever pull acceptably light for a 400. Honda claims the 97 XRs gearbox is identical to last years the only noteworthy difference is the addition of stronger clutch springs and a redesigned lifter and our newer unit performed without a cough.
